"For the love of God, LET THEM GO!" I yelled and drew blood from the king's throat. "Are you seriously going to kill yourself by continuing to order them around?"

"I can't," the king said fearfully, pressing back into his throne to get as far away from the sword as possible, "The collar's on a time-lock. If I could get it off, I would. I swear. Please don't kill me," The king pleaded, terror rasping his voice.

"How do you get it off?" I asked, "Tell me- or you die,"

"I don't know, I swear," the king said, pure terror cracking his voice, "The man who invented it, he didn't say how to get it off. He said there was the time lock and a key for emergencies, but I don't know where the key is. Just don't kill me!"

The electricity stopped and Rai lay unmoving on the floor. Listening to the king and girl, he let out a small gutteral laugh. The king was such a coward when push came to shove. Rai began to sit up.

Lauren: I manage to get free and I knelt down by the wolf.

"Crap," I muttered. "Come on, you can do this! You can resist it!"

Rai sat up, the fur under the collar was smoking slightly. Barbacued wolf fur smelled a little worse than wet dog. Rai started to scratch at the collar, trying to get it off. He pulled back his paw, the collar was still hot to the touch.

"stop," I whisper and take the collar off.

Rai winced a little as the half-Demon girl peeled off the collar. He tryed to shift back into human form, but the effects of the collar lingered for a while. He managed to shift for only a few seconds before having to revert back into a wolf. Those few seconds, however, were long enough to reveal that the scar around his neck was now red and raw.

I gasp and I stroke his fur. I rip the hem of my shirt and place it on his neck.

"Not entirely necessary," grunted the wolf, in Rai's voice, "Werewolves are notoriously fast healers," He sat up a little straighter, "Remove the makeshift bandage and I'll show you," he offered.

"okay. I'm am not very knowledgeable about werewolves," I say and back off.

The wolf made a small grunting noise and all it's muscles tensed up. The wound on it's neck began to close up, leaving only a slight red scar. Black fur began to poke through, but it was a little less thick than the rest of the fur. The wolf released a breath and relaxed. It smiled a canine smile, "See? All better," It stretched it's neck and winced a little. "Almost all better," it corrected itself, "Definately completely healed by tomorrow." It stood up.

I roll my eyes, "Alright so how do we get out of here?"

[BariJoy]

"I spent year's in this castle. I'm fairly certain that I know a safe way out." the wolf-Rai said, "Are we taking her with?" he gestured to the girl holding a sword to the king's throat.

My eyes narrowed angrily, "I'd like to see you try to leave me, but in order to go you're going to have to tie up the guards-I'll take care of the King,"

"I wasn't suggesting we leave you," wolf-Rai said, "Does anyone have any rope?"

The king started at the girl's last remark. "You can't kill me," he said, frightened, "I'm the king," He snapped his fingers, summoning more guards from another room.

I groaned, and rolled my eyes, "Tell your babysitters to put down their weapons and line up against the wall, or I will kill you. Believe you me, it's a tempting offer."

[BariJoy]

The king's eyes widened in fear. "Do as she says," he told the guards. He spoke to the girl with the sword, "I'll give you anything you want. Just don't kill me,"

"How 'bout my family back?" I asked so coldly. turned to the others "What about you guys, do you need anything?"

[BariJoy]

The king nodded ernestly, "They're down in the dungeon. I'll send guards to fetch them."

Wolf-Rai shrugged as best he could in canine form. "He killed my pack about four years ago. The corpses are probably long gone. It's not physically possible for him to give me back the three years I spent here wearing that wretched collar and being forced to act as his dog. That doesn't really leave much for me to ask for,"

"My family is dead."

Soon all of the guards were tied up, and weaponless. I hit the king with the flat side of my sword and stepped away as his head lolled forward. "Your death will have to wait," I mumbled regretably,"

"After you," I motioned to wolf-boy.

"Thank-you kindly," Wolf-Rai said, and trotted out the door. He motioned with his tail for the others to follow. "By the way," he said, "I never caught your names."

"Leonor, and your's?"

[BariJoy]

"Rai. Rai Fenris," Wolf-Rai said, "If you translate it back to it's origin, it means something along the lines of 'Lightening Wolf-God.'" Rai had always liked his name. It was much better than some of the others in his pack. But no name was better than that of Luna Howl. How he missed her...

"Cool," I answered. I had no idea what my name meant- it wasn't even the name my parents had given me. That one had meant 'defender'. The hurt in Rai's canine eyes mirrored my own.
