Molly held her coke close as she sat in the booth, her knees against her chest and feet pointing out. She was scared.
Everything had gone dark.
She had just woken up here.
She didn't even drink aside from a friendly beer among colleagues at the end of the day.
She felt alone.
Molly glanced around the bar, it was pretty generic for an pub sort of place; few flags on the walls, they were a bit hard to make out the nationality due to the low lighting but still apparent, three pool tables sat in the back with dart boards near them, and of course a large bar in the middle of it all with all the poisons you could dream of.
Soft music played from a jukebox and interrupted the worry filled silence, everyone seemed too scared to say anything.
She quivered.

Jeff grimaced at the song.
He hated it.
It was some shit by journey that had been overplayed and messed up by some stupid actors on a preteen chick show about glee club. It grated on his nerves and he was a few minutes short of standing and changing it.
The only thing that stopped him was that if he moved he'd probably interrupt the delicate frozen scene that was the bar.
No one moved.
They all were just.... there.
He was trying his best not to fidget, though he was finding it hard, his fingers were practically screaming at him to do something, anything that would mean he wasn't still.
They already played with the strings on his hoodie.
"Fuck...." He muttered under his breath.
He stood and meandered over to the bar, aware that most eyes were on him.
"Scotch and soda." He grunted at the bartender, pulling him out of the silent stiffness.

Kenneth sat in a corner, patiently waiting for the power to come back up.
Sitting alone with a few people trying to make sense of the situation, he pondered out loud.
"Did anyone bother to call the cops or something?" he muttered taking a sup of his brew.
"And does anyone have a stogie? If I don't smoke I'm going to die..." he said much louder. Seeing as everyone was quite scared, he surveyed the scene. "Just where are we?" he asked no one in particular.

"Reception's down so no cops," a voice came from one of the stools at the end of the bar. "Whoever took us here snagged some of our phones."
Serra looked over her shoulder to the voice with her half-empty beer bottle in hand.
"And I might not have one of those, but I have a Prime Time if that'll do," she spoke, slowly turning on the stool and sliding off. She pulled a pack out of her back pocket and held it out. She couldn't see where the voice came from but she knew the general direction.
"And I'm not entirely sure where."

"Oh, that's just lovely," came a youthful, arrogant voice from the middle of the room. The voice was laced with such sarcasm that one could practically hear her rolling her eyes, "No clue where we are, no light, no way to get out, and no cell service. We're going bloody die down here," she grumbled, making her way to the counter to sit down where the guy had earlier. "Surely you can't all intend to just wait."

Molly curled herself tighter as she listened to the exchange, unsure of what to say. She opened her mouth timidly only to shut it quickly to nibble on her lip nervously.
What could she say that would prove useful?
Probably nothing.
There were many things she could say though.
"Cigarettes kill you." She said softly, but loud enough for the others to hear.
Wow.
That was intelligent.
Now all she need was to start telling them all to eat their vegetables and she'd take a wonderful place as the groups nagging annoying mother figure. She didn't even know these people and she was giving them life advice? Great start.
Molly took a loud sip from her soda.
At least they couldn't really see her, she reasoned, she could change the sound of her voice and they wouldn't know that it was her.
Then again she had heard better plans from the drunk, high, homeless man who passed out on the sidewalk near her building.

Jeff took a sip of his drink and swirled it around, letting the ice clink as he thought, savoring the slight burn in the back of his throat.
So he was stuck in this place with no way out that no one knew of.
That was positive.
"Lady, that's all we can do." He responded after taking another sip, "I don't suppose you see a way out. Nor do we have the technology that we depend on working."
He hoped that sounded eloquent.
He liked sounding like he was posh.
Not like it mattered much anyway, most of these people wouldn't really give a crap if he flourished his sentences with a variety of words so rarely used or if he just used 'fuck, crap, shit' every other sentence.
He swirled his glass again.
The clinking almost drowned out the crackling of the jukebox.

Okay, I've made a guy but if you want me to make a girl to even it out then I'm more than happy to.

Name: Edward "Ham" Hamden
Age: 22
Appearance: Innocent and relaxed-looking. Square face and quite sharp features. Maybe looks a little bit plain until he smiles, then he lights up a room
Eyes: Pale green with a few flecks of red-brown
Hair: Curly blonde-brown mop top, fringe that sweeps over his eyes. Always running his hand through his hair
Height: 5"11
Clothes: Dark green hoodie which has its sleeves rolled up and is open to reveal a Blink-182 band tee. Sandy-coloured cargo shorts and plain black vans
Body type: Well-built. A bit on the chunky side but not at all fat
Other distinguishing features: Number of little lines of burn scars up both arms which he doesn't really take any notice of. But everyone always compliments his eyes...when they can see them

"I'm Serra," she spoke softly, sitting back down onto the stool and crossing one leg over the other. She rolled her neck a little and looked about also.
"What do you think they want with us?"

The man who sat as deep into the corner as he could gave a small sigh. So everyone was finally talking? Introducing names and generally being chatty? Ignoring the fact that they were stuck in a bar?
Well, there were much worse places to be stuck like a lift or a haunted house. At least there was booze there.
Maybe it was a business thing? Everyone of them there had bought a drink or a bar snack at some point. Maybe they were just being a bit extreme?
But seeing as everyone was beginning to introduce themselves, the guy decided that it was probably a good thing to finally speak up instead of listening to his iPod and playing Angry Birds. His battery wasn't going to last for too much longer. May as well make some new entertainment.
"Ham," he finally called out into the darkness.
But then it occurred to him that they probably thought that he was just shouting out random things rather than his nickname, the one that his friends had given him and the one that stuck hence after. So after licking his lips and taking in another breathe to try again.
"T-the name's...Ham," he explained, though probably not loud enough for the people on the other side of the room to here.
Oh well. It wasn't as if he was going to see these people again. Maybe he had seen some pretty nice silhouettes of girls but... Nah, he was never going to hit on them.

Molly let out a light chuckle at the ham thing but when a soft little silence came she felt a bit of panic grab her gut. No one really responded to her little stumble earlier, maybe they didn't hear?
Fresh start?
"M..Molly." She called out.
With a little sip of her now flat soda she squinted through the darkness, trying to see at least one face. She grimaced at her failure and rubbed her eyes.
Well. That was fun.

Jeff glanced around with a quiet meep from the corner there really seemed to be nobody else. Who wanted to present themselves, that is.
"Jeff." He grunted.
He swirled the drink again, there seemed to be something a bit relaxing in the way the ice clinked together.
"So... Anybody feel like changing this crap music?" He said with an awkward smile on his face.
Yeah.
Socializing wasn't his thing.

Serra nodded as she lit up a cigarette.
"It's rather odd, kidnapping people and placing them in a bar," she spoke in a soft wistful tone.
"Why do you all think they took us? What do we have in common?"

Alicia shrugged, crossing her arms as she looked around faintly making out the figures of people sitting and sipping drinks or staring into space. "Forgive me if I'm wrong, but maybe the fact that we all seem fairly young adults?" she asked, sipping her own her soda. "Or maybe it's not even anything specific about us. Maybe we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Ham didn't know. He just peered down to his drink and pondered the question. Why were they there?
Maybe it was a social experiment? To see what happens if you locked a load of similarly-aged people in a bar? Who knew. Psychologists were weird people. They liked to physically harm people for "science"... It wasn't even a proper science.
"If you don't like the music, put another quarter in the duke box," he sighed, calling out to whoever were commenting about the background tunes, "Just no Nickelback."
He swore that if anybody put that on then he would smash all of the speakers in the room. He would even have happily paid the bill. He liked to have his hearing intact, thanks.

Jeff stood then, figuring no one else was gonna do it. He sauntered over to the machine, sipping his drink and waiting for a buzz that he was sure that was never gonna warm him up.
Damn alcohol never solved anything.
He took out a couple of quarters in his pocket and put them into the jukebox. It was a bit hard to read the titles of the songs, and he was half tempted to 'accidently' play Nickleback for the fan at the bar, but with a sigh he chose a bit of Areosmith instead.

Molly looked up and over the sides of her booth curiously only to duck down and cough from the cigarette smoke.
Great.
If she didn't die here from monsters or whatever they were here for she'd die of second hand smoke.
"Maybe we're all dead and this is purgatory." She offered after her coughing fit.
Ray of sunshine she was. It was possible. That or she had been reading too many scifi-fantasy online novels in her free time.
Probably that.

That, and I don't believe in purgatory." ,he said and then faceplamed for knowing that he sounded like an agnostic jerk. "W-what I meant was, whoever did this, they know what they're doing."
