okay i just didn't know what to do b/c gray's world shattered, but i had know idea what that entailed so didn't know what nell should do.

Gray : i stood there for a long moment, just silent. I did not want to run and i did not want to attack anyone. i was too...numb...to be mad. I just watched them and listened to the sound of marry making and approval at the horrid news..

Nell: My eyes darted between Alec and Xero who were locked in a saliva exchange and Gray whose eyes were completely blank. I put my hand on Gray's arm. Words caught in my throat and I looked at the floor. I didn't have any idea what to say.

Xero : My first kiss, it was as soft and as loving as i always dreamed it would be but yet...so much felt wrong. I felt Alec's lips part from my own and then he pressed me against his chest. The chandelier lights made my ring sparkle which made it hard for me to take in the crowd smiling at us. When i finally found the person i was looking for i wanted to just reach out and hold him....Gray's eyes....they were as cold and blank as they had been the first day i met him...the day his family was killed...

Nell: I looked up at the balcony. Xero was pressed to Alec's chest, but her eyes were locked on Gray. Gray's eyes were empty and he didn't seem to realize that she was looking at him. He looked hollow, the way I always felt.

Anala: I look between Xero and Gray. How tragic. This is just like one of those romance novels that i've found tucked underneath Sash's bed. My forehead creases. My eyes lock on Gray. And i'm actually siding with him.

Alec : "Enjoy the rest of the night," I said. I took Xero's hand again and we made our way back down stairs.
I looked at her for a moment, "What is it my love?"
Xero blinked and glanced up with her innocent violet eyes. The very ones i had known since she was born. "Nothing. I'm just..happy"

Nell: I clasped my hands and looked at Gray. I still had no idea what to do.

Gray : "W-we...should try and enjoy the night..." I say, my voice sounds so far away even to my own ears. I feel the tattoo on my neck is burning but nothing but my chest is aching. Why....why did it have to happen so soon...

Nell: "By doing what?" I asked softly. I looked at the floor. I could almost feel Gray's desolation radiating from him like a furnace. I should have seen this coming, but even if I had, what could I have done?

I had no response for her...what would we do? i shook my head. "I'm going to go talk to the chairman in his office..." I turned on my heal and left.

Anala: I can see the distant look on Gray's face, but before i can try and comfort him, someone takes my hand and pulls me away from the room. I whip my hand away as soon as i notice that it's Chance.
"What do you want?" I hiss in the darkness, my eyes easily adjusting.
"just to talk."
"I'm so sure." but i'm really not.

Nell: I clasped my hands and rocked on my heels. "Great." I walked over to ALec and Xero. "Congrats," I said stiffly.

Xero : Alec thanks Nell politely but i am too distracted to say much else but, "Wheres Gray?"

[Kate-Anders(unnie)]

Nell: "He had to speak with the chairman," I said flatly.

[Gaby_Babo-Unnie:3!~]

Xero : "about what?" the wedding? I felt Alec's arm loop around me and his eyes go to mine. "Are you worried, love? I can go find him if you like."
The way his eyes looked, both beautiful and.....deadly...were...hypnotizing...
"Yes...please do" I say with out thinking.

Anala: I shove Chance away from me and smile grimly with satisfaction as he crashes into something.
"I'm serious about the talking thing."
"What could be so important?" I snap back.
"Your sister."
I swallow hard. "talk," i whisper.
"What? Just because I'm a vamp doesn't mean i can't not--"
"Talk!" I shout, taking a menacing step forward. "What did you do to her?" I lower my voice an octave, but i'm still fuming mad.
"I didn't do anything. I'm just...worried. And I know you are too."
All i can do is gape at him. I step back towards the door. "I-I have to go and-and..and see if Xero is alright." i stammer, walking quickly towards the door.
"It's not a rumor."
I freeze again.
"The war. It's not a rumor. Everyone knows it's coming. And i'm just worried that if Sash takes a stand and uses every ounce of 'magic' in her, it's going to end badly. Maybe even kill her. And i know we both don't want that."
I grip the knob tightly. "You love her, don't you." It's not a question, i know it's true. and i have to smile a bit. I'm just glad someone loves her as much as i do.
"I..I care about her, yes.."
That's all i need before i'm out the door. So the war is real. Sash being in danger -- of herself, ironically -- is real. And Chance being in love with her is real too.
Everything seems like it's building to its climax. And i have to wonder how it will fall. because everyone knows what goes up....
must come down.

Nell: "No," I said flatly. "I believe he would like to see the chairman alone." I looked up at Alec with hard eyes.

[Gaby_Babo-Unnie:3!~]

Alec : She shouldn't worry about him so much. It's frowned upon by other humans. "I understand" I say, nodding. "Should we get going?" I ask, Xero. Her eyes are still a tad glazed over but lovely as ever.
She nods and gets on her top toes to kiss me again.

Nell: My eyes narrowed. "Xero, Gray wouldn't want you to go out late," I said. I didn't want her to go out late either, but that wouldn't make her pause the way throwing Gray's in there would.

Xero : "He'll be fine." I say, not being able to look away from Alec's eyes. I turned my back away from the crowd and followed him back up the stairs to his room.

Nell: I opened my mouth, closed it, opened it, and closed it again. I pursed my lips and nodded slowly. I couldn't go to Gray. He would just freak out. I couldn't run after her, subdue Alec, and run off with her. A. Because subduing Alec may be beyond my capabilities and B. she had just been in engaged and I didn't want to take that little ray of happiness away from her.
I let out a deep breath and walked outside. I collapsed against the balcony and put my head in my hands. The world was going to hell in a handbasket that was for sure. Gray was a vampire and Xero was going to marry a vampire. I was the only one not tainted by those beasts.
Actually I didn't know that. I gritted my teeth and slammed my fist against the balcony.

Gray : i blinked. "What are you doing there?" I asked Nell who looked like she was nursing a rather large headache or was about to give birth to a greek godess from her skull.
