Valkyrie looked down, " or they where running and telling others to run. But we'll see. Turn on the news maybe there's a story on it," she told him nodding to the remote control and going into the kitchen to fetch an English muffin she had made earlier.

Topher flicked the TV, leaning to deeply into the couch hurt his shoulder. He found the news and began to watch, it was the end of the weather report.

Valkyrie leaned on the white granite counter top, her sandy blond hair brushing past her and hanging around her head. She watched the weather not particularly interested in the next days forecast knowing it was probably either completely wrong or somewhere in the middle. Valkyrie started zoning out thinking about the note with no card and hastily written and what it could mean. She had ideas but they'll didn't seem to have a nice outcome or beginning.

The news soon came back, and Landy watched, the anchors with their plastered on make up, it was disgusting.

Valkyrie started to focus back on the carrot orange anchor from all her tanning and layers of sick make up. She shook her head and focused on the stories trying not to look at the faces of the reporters or anchors. They where just like plastic but spray tanned, a bit more flexible, and covered in heavy make up.

A recap of Topher's friend, and fellow serial being hung was showed. He didn't show it on his face, but inside he got sick to his stomach, and he knew that Valkyrie would know it as well.

Valkyrie put down her food and stopped eating a sharp pain coming to her from Topher's mind, they where congratulating their "wonderful, and just" government. She hated the news because they always praised the government and they where terrified of them, the serials. Valkyrie hated it having to hide, this "wonderful and just" government of theirs made her wear long clothes all the time, except when they where home sometimes, and made her mind get over loaded with toughts when she went out in public and she couldn't show it. It made her barely able to talk to anyone other than a serial and now that most normal people had tattoos it made her mind become full of words and stupid thoughts. The only tattoos she couldn't use to read thoughts where the serials tattoos.

Topher clenched his fists so hard, digging his nails in it made his palms bleed. "How can they say that? He wasn't a murderer," he mumbled, "He was my best friend."
His friend had control of electricity, and before he found Valkyrie he stayed with him. "He never hurt anyone." What they said about his friend just made him angry.

Valkyrie nodded, " they're just scared little wimps that don't know how to not kill what they don't know about. They've done it for a long time and they have not evolved out of it yet." she said to him.

Valkyrie waited, she was sure if they where doing something about security they would announce it on the news. The next storie was just about a large fire believed to be the fault of a serial. They would jut not believe it was their fault, it seemed against them.

Every thing was about how bad serials were. Even. The commercials it really angered Topher. He wanted to turn it off but knew he shouldn't.
It was then he noticed his bleeding hands. He cursed in his thoughts and waited for the news o be over before he bandaged them up.

Valkyrie turned and went to a cabinet opening it and tossing two moderator long bandages to Topher a small smile on her face as she ignored a commercial about a product that kept serials away. It would never, they where mostly human it wasn't something that would deter them away. She shook her head, " don't get blood on the sofa or your cleaning it up without bleach. " she told him curtly.

He narrowed his eyes, as he opened the first bandage and placed it on his palm. He put the other one on his other hand and said, "I'm not clumsy, I've never run into a door, wall, or poll in my life." Of course, he just went through them, but he did have a point, he was a pretty graceful person.

Valkyrie went to sit next to him, " you may be graceful but that doesn't mean you won't get blood on the sofa, so just don't and everything will be fine. And being graceful is your skill," she told him infacising is, " climbsyness is my specialty." Valkyrie smiled and gave a short laugh. She knew she was clumbsy but when Topher was around she looked like the biggest clutz in the world.

He just laughed, "You're sofa will remain spotless," he promised. He leaned on the side that didn't have his new tattoo, "I wish they would shorten the news to stuff that actually mattered."

Valkyrie shrugged, " this is what the ignorant, scared humans think is important. But yeah it would be nice." she told him rubbing her arm, the markings where shivering and it had never happened before. They had shifted around but never shivered.

Valkyrie shrugged, " they're shivering not moving but shivering." she told him looking slightly worried and watching her markings shake back and forth. It scared her she wouldn't tell that to Topher but it practically terrified her. Her nineteen years of living with these markings and this has never happened.

Valkyrie took most of her attintion off of the weirdness of the markings and turned to the television. " the government is raising the security after the attack from one of the groups of serials. The government is placing a guard in every neighbourhood and they will have surprise home searches. These are your your own good please understand this," the newslady said a fake smile on her face and a stack of blank pages in her hand.

Valkyrie pulled him back on the sofa grabbing his arm. " don't if they are heightening security then the government buildings are ganna be hell and we won't ever get in, it would be impossible." she told him looking at the television ignoring the shivers going up her spine.

Valkyrie knew he was right, " yeah but we need to hide wile we can, if they don't find us-" she said but was interrupted by a sharp knock at the door. " let's go, now!" she whispered to Topher leaping from the couch and pulling on a long shirt and running out the back door. Her markings practically exploded beneath her long shirt. She scrambled to put gloves on as the tendrils of shadow came from te back of her hands. " to the woods,"

Do to his hiking trips he had a back pack of supplies by the door. He grabbed it as he ran through the wall, and into the woods. Luckily a clean shirt was laced through the straps, because going around without a shirt on would not be a good thing. "You were saying?" he asked rather smug.
