Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake) Empty Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake)

I really miss this chat, so I'm going to start it back up. I'm making a new charrie- you guys can make new ones or use old ones. All acts are open as of now. This one takes place during the 1800's.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome one and all to the most amazing circus on earth!
This dazzling array of acts will thrill your senses!
Impossible feats by impossible freaks; nature has truly out done herself here!

Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake) Circus_tiger_news352

Nature has indeed out done herself on the people in this circus. The Cirque de Savauges is a huge ship that docks at ports all over the world, drawing thousands of viewers from all ages. What could one circus have that would be so appealing? The answer is the world’s greatest acts; acts that would be impossible for humans.
Then again, who is to say the performers aren’t human? They certainly look human enough.

The master of the ship, the Ringleader, if you will, is a dark and secretive man. He owns the performers like slaves; they are considered less than human. Thankfully, the performers aren't beaten or treated too terribly. After all, they still have to perform. However, these young men and woman have very little freedom. They are stuck on this ship, and forced to perform for the rest of their lives.
Would you sit back and take it?
Or would you stand up for your freedom?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rules: Ya gotta have 'em.

REPLY!
One-liners annoy me. Greatly.
Don’t join unless you are prepared to write. A lot.
Put EFFORT into your bio!!!!!!
Excitement in the form of drama (or otherwise) is greatly encouraged. Make it interesting.
BE ORIGINAL
No characters are to be perfect. That is extremely boring.
Don't copy acts, or powers!!!!!!!!
Erase the parenthesis in the character form.

Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake) Empty Re: Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake)

((Yeah Smile ))

Name: Alexandra (Means: "Defender of the People") Knightingale
Nickname: Xandra
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Personality:
Free ( or as free as she can be). She's a wanderer, a wayfarer. Realistic. She doesn't sugar coat anything. Painfully honest, sit by this girl if you want to hear the truth- or at least her opinion. However, people are drawn to Xandra's dry wit, and quiet sarcasm. She's a good person to confide in, because she listens, understands, keeps secrets, and gives good advice. Chivalrous. Xandra watches out for those she loves, and she sticks up for the underdog. Electric. The only emotion that she isn't totally in control of 24/7 is her temper. It flares up fast and easily. She has an outgoing personality. Courageous. No matter what you throw at her, Xandra can, and will face it. Motivated. Alexandra Knightingale will never give up. At anything. She is determined to escape this floating prison. A leader.
Xandra has a darker side to her personality as well. She can be cold and heartless. She sincerely hopes she is getting better, and will do anything to prove it, but this is made harder by the fact that she can't always control herself; she sometimes thinks of herself as an animal, vicious and untamed, and she hates it.
These words are not enough to totally explain Alexandra Knightingale. She is as unpredictable as any real person.
Act:
The Acrobat. Alexandra Knightingale is an amazing gymnast, inhumanly feline and flexible, this girl can hurtle across the thin rafters of the roof, never slowing as she performs unbelievable stunts, and contortions. No one knows just what makes her so agile, but one thing that is obvious under x-ray is that Xandra's bone structure is lighter, and built differently from human's.
During her performance, Xandra dodges flaming clumps of tar, huge chunks of metal shrapnel, and poison dipped arrows. No ordinary human could dodge these missiles. How could she even have a chance? Xandra can teleport, or ‘evaporate’ as she likes to call it, so fast that the audience doesn’t know it, and she stays alive.

Other: Her favorite thing to do is not gymnastics, put to practice her flute. It is the only escape, the only freedom she owns.

Looks:
Eye Color: Xandra's eyes are a pale grey-green.

Hair: Her hair is so dark brown that it looks almost black, and naturally very curly.
Appearance: The girl has soft features, and a defined jaw. She is very tan from practicing on the deck of the ship every morning, and the skin of her hands is tough from years of rope burn. Xandra is slim, as an acrobat has to be, but she's rather short.

Other: She has never broken a bone, which is remarkable for an acrobat.

Name: Daniel Hawthorne
Nickname: The Ringleader
Gender: Male
Age: 34
Personality:
Mysterious, Daniel Hawthorne has a past so twisted that even he has trouble navigating it's turns. He hardly remembers most of it. Not that he cares. Cold and heartless, the Ringleader is a psychopath that literally cannot feel human emotions, including a conscience. He is ruled completely by his mind, and does not even try to show emotions. He doesn’t understand then, or the point in them. The Ringleader is very reclusive because of this aspect. He does not understand emotions, and therefore does not want to be around those that have them. He treats all beings other than himself as inferior. The Ringleader cares about very, very little. No one even knows why he keeps this job.
Despite all of this, Hawthorne still makes a good Ringleader. He has the ability to whip a crowd into frenzy, to make them sad or angry, happy or excited. No one on board quite understands how he manages this, but none can doubt his powers of manipulation.
Daniel Hawthorne is a man made unpredictable by his total lack of emotion or morals to govern him. He goes completely against nature, completely against the essence of what makes us human.
Act:
The Ringleader does not have an act, other than introducing the performers. However, running the circus can be just as difficult as managing an act. It helps that Daniel has the ability to hypnotize, and read the minds of the people he talks too.
Other: The Ringleader paints water colors in his spare time. The paintings are always exact and realistic.
Looks:
Eye Color: The Ringleader's eyes are a very cold, icy blue with darker hints.
Hair: He has short, light blond hair that is usually slicked back, or spiked.
Appearance: He is a tall man, and very fit, but other than that his appearance isn't abnormal other than a scar under his left eye.

Other: He is extremely conscientious of his appearance.

Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake) Empty Re: Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake)

Post by OpenTheDoor Mon Mar 07, 2011 3:20 pm

Name: Ilia Williows
Nickname: Cheshire
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Personality: Ilia tends to be quiet and just get along with things. She isn't carefree as to say, but she doesn't argue and just does as she's told. It's easy to view her as spineless when she's around anyone like the Ring Leader, but he's gone, she can be snappy. She scowls and snaps a lot, putting up a fight when needs be. She's completely different around authority.
Act: Ilia's act is pretty basic. Her appearance leads her to be a freak; not everyone has features like a cat. The crowd mostly gets startled from that, but then she pulls out another trick. Suddenly disappearing. She can turn invisible at will and scare the punters.
Other: Nah
Looks:-
Eye Colour: A bright amber that are cat slits. They seem to glow at times, especially when she's happy or laughing
Hair: Short white pixie bob that stays in it's place. It's thick and straight.
Appearance: Ilia is medium-tall and with a dancer's build. Has a pretty face though she generally keeps it covered as much as possible. She has cat ears that she tries to keep hidden underneath a khaki beanie as much as possible though it's almost impossible for her to hide the tail, so she lets that hang loose behind her back.
Other: She's extremely self-conscious of herself and her cat-features.
History: It was easy to say that Ilia's family was well-off, owning a lot of land and a booming business. When she born, she looked like a normal child in every way; chestnut hair and bright red cheeks. Growing up was a breeze for her, blooming into a real young lady.

At the age of eleven, her life took a sudden turn. Whilst sleeping one night, tucked up in her bed, she woke up to the sound of a soft meowing, like a mother calling for her young. Ilia sprang from her bed, she didn't even know why, it just seemed to lure her over.
Wrapping a small dressing gown about her, she padded through the grand house, being careful not to make a sound to wake her sleeping parents or maids. With no sound, she opened the door, peeping her head out. The winter wind whipped up her long chestnut hair, lifting it far above her head and around her neck. Gently, she took it down from the heights and tucked it beneath her collar.
"Hello?" she whispered, not moving another inch out of the house.
"Ilia..." the voice returned in a whisper, seeming to be carried along with the wind.
The girl looked back inside, deciding that if she was going to stay there any longer, she would have to close the door. She did.
"Come here..."
The small girl frowned, "I can't. I need to return to my bed."
"Ilia, come here."
With a glance back to the house, she took a few steps forward, looking out at the darkness; no-one could see past their eyes, le alone a sleepy girl.
"I-I need to get back," she complained, taking a few steps back, "Who's there?"
The eerie silence was enough to make her shiver, let alone the breeze and sprinkling of snow coming from the skies. With a small whimper, Ilia turned and walked back to the house before stopping.
"Don't leave."
Ilia's face froze, someone was holding her shoulder, she was sure of it. Gingerly, she rose her hand to that shoulder, but she just touched it; there was no-one there.
"Come on, I wish to show you something..."

The rest of that night became a blur for Ilia, all she remembered was the darkness and the freezing cold.
The morning after, she woke-up late. Her nanny called her yet no-one returned it. Ilia was sitting on her bed, crying.
"Ilia? Come down to breakfast, we're waiti-- Oh my!"
With fear, the girl leapt. A long, white furry tail wrapped around her body as soft snowy ears pricked towards the sound. Amber eyes starred at the startled woman, her colourless fringe sweeping gently infront of them.
"What has happened?"
The shouts and screams from that day still torment the girl every night along with that same calling voice, drawing her nearer to the source. The voice was something that she couldn't escape from.
Within the next few years, Ilia was forgotten more and more. Treated as nothing, she still lived a similar life, but ban from the outside world. At the birth of a new little sister, her role was forgotten more. With her being cast into the shadows, the girl ran away, unable to live the life she had before that night.
She wasn't sure on how she lived the next few years, doing everything she could to survive. But one day, with her sitting in the docks, she saw the Cirque de Sauvage dock. She had heard many tales of the place; it was a travelling circus, one that she could easily join looking like she did. Either way, it was probably better than how she was living before. With an adjustment to her cloak, she trekked up to the decks and knocked on the office.
"Come on, come in..."
With a shaky gulp, the girl's eyes closed; that voice that she heard that night. Her heart jumped in fear before she turned but something stopped her.
The hand on her shoulder, exactly as she remembered that night. It couldn't be, could it?
"Perfect."

She alright? I might lift my guy if needs be.

Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake) Empty Re: Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake)

Post by Charlie Mon Mar 07, 2011 10:21 pm

Name: Thomas (means twin) Dover
Nickname: Tommy (only Ringleader calls him Thomas), meaner kids call him sharky, sharkboy and things of the sort.
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Personality: Hates being pissed off. Very likable, he is like a big teddy bear. He is a protector. He acts on impulses, only the ringleader at the moment knows he is bipolar. He is stressed, not being able to tell many secrets. He is deathly afraid of fire.
Act: The Shark, his powers are as states, Can control water, and become almost fishlike (well he can hold his breath as long as he wants), Talk to all aquatic animals, has a closer connection with sharks. His act, is simple he gets in a tank with ten great white sharks swims with them and has a water show going on above.
Other: His costume is grey swimming shorts, for racers, and a teal over coat that he strips off before he jumps in. Oh and if he is burned he heals fast, considering the whole water thing, and that's how you fix burns ya know. The reason why he is connected will be explained in his brief bio thing.
Looks:
Eye Color: His eyes are dark brown, almost black.
Hair: He has shaggy chocolate brown hair.
Appearance:Tall, around 6'8. Very muscular, physical perfection basically, but emotionally he is far from that. He is as light as air. He normally wears jeans and a white v-neck. Tan. He has a huge scar/piece taken out of him from wear a shark bit him.
Other: Here is a breif-ish history of him (disregard incorrect descriptions and what not... but that's basically what happened)- Tommy was being stupid utterly and completely stupid. The first rule, never go out in a storm, especially one as bad as this. Tommy was asking for death. But all he really wanted was a good surf. A good surf, with high waves, that would give him the rush he so desired.
The wind blew and, tussled his brown hair, as he got out of the white jeep with green and blue stripes on it. He untied his board from the top of the car. As he was doing so, he looked at the churning ocean. The beach was deserted, but it was when it was sunny too, well besides his buddies. The only difference between now and any normal day, was that the white caps of the waves were reaching higher than he had ever seen, the sun wasn't shining, the wind was horrible, and it looked like it would just start to pour any minute.
Tommy however cared for none of it. He wanted the killer waves. He wanted the adrenaline to pump through his body like it never had before. This was single-handedly the stupidest thing Tommy would ever do, but that thought wasn't floating in his mind at the moment.
The wind picked up as he pulled his board down, but he kept on going. He was strong enough to manoeuvre the board even as it was thrust in different directions. He walked on the grainy beach, the colour normally a luscious yellow, now how a dull brown tint to it, like the sand you find in a sand box.
His bright blue eyes scanned the horizon. He stuck his board in the sand, then proceeded to take off his white, and purple sweatshirt that was zipped half way off. He became colder in an instant when it came off his shoulders. But he soon warmed up to it, like he had an internal fire inside his body.
He tightened his purple and white board shorts, by pulling on the sting and tying it into a little bow. He grabbed his board, and with a heave, it dislodged from the sand. He ran out, and into the water, and began to paddle out.
As he paddled Tommy began to do the second stupidest thing he would ever do. He paddled to far out, he wanted the larger waves, but that was not the case. They were the same size. But it was to late to just turn back and paddle. He decided he would ride one of the waves in.
He caught the wave, and stood up on the board. His use of balance was quite helpful here. In normal weather he would have done some crazy flip off the front of the board, but in normal weather he was close to shore, here he was at least two miles out. So he remained planted on the board.
Well he remained planted till he caught a gust of wind he didn't expect. The gust was hard, and blew him off his board. He was at the reef. But he didn't have time to think about that. As he fell down the string that attatched him to his board broke. He lost site of the board, and everything else.
He didn't have a chance to swim for the surface, his head hit the reef. And blood soon filled the water. Not a lot came from the small knick on Tommy's forehead but it was enough to gain the attention of an unwanted visitor.
The senses of the shark zoned in on Tommy's limp body. From first appearance this was an ordinary shark. And that's what Tommy would have thought if he could have seen the shark, if he was able to think. But he couldn't he had hit his head, because he was being stupid.
The shark as far out as it might have been, zoomed in on sixteen year old, it didn't swim yet, it was gaining its senses on where Tommy was. Then it swam, and swam till it met Tommy. Something told the shark that this was the one. He didn't hesitate when he got to Tommy, he bit Tommy's side, his left side, and blood surrounded Tommy. It filled the area. The thousands of teeth pierced Tommy's tough tan skin, it pierced through the muscles, and Tommy just lay there.
As if by some means of fate, a hand grabbed Tommy's shoulder. A thin boney hand. A hand had seen death. The shark released its grip and continued on its way as if nothing had happened. Tommy was pulled to the surface, and onto the deck of a yacht. Or what seemed like a yacht. Whatever it was, it was a long ways from the surface of the water.
Tommy had not regained consciousness. He was thrown on the deck blood spilling everywhere, water rippling off his body. His trunks that were mostly white, were not white anymore, but more of a faded red; do to the blood and water.
"Tommy!" a woman yelled. The woman was his mom. Why his mother was on deck was well odd. His father was their too, kneeling next to his dieing, or even dead son.
"I can help him," a thin raspy voice said. He was tall and thin, and the man that had pulled Tommy out of the water. He made everything seem odd, the fact that he was there, the shark backing off, and Tommy's parents being on deck at the convenient time that Tommy was being saved. The simple fact that they were out at sea on a boat, with a strange man when Tommy was gone was, for lack of a better word, odd.
The Ring Leader as weak as he looked, with his thin body, was able to pick Tommy up. And Tommy was no feather, he was at least two-hundred pounds, and it was all muscle. The Ring Leader who resembled a walking stick however did pick him up.
The wind almost knocked him over, when he stood up with Tommy in his arms, bleeding all his Black pants, and red buttoned up shirt. "You promise you'll save him." Tommy's mom said, in more of question form. She cried, and his dad put a hand around her shoulder, and kissed the top of her head.
"Yes," The Ring Leader replied, not looking at the broken parents who might loose there son. He flicked his black greasy hair out of his face, and readjusted Tommy in his grip. As he did that, he opened a door that was barely big enough for him to enter through. He took Tommy inside, and the door shut behind him. A crack of thunder echoed throughout the deck of the ship.
His footsteps echoed in the narrow corridor. He made a sharp left, and exited the white corridor. In the room was a table, similar to that of one that operations were performed on, a lighter, and now the two bodies of The Ring Leader, who has yet to have a name, and Tommy.
Tommy was placed on the table, chest facing out words; the blood still poured out of the wound, and began to pool on the polished metal table. The Ringleader adjusted Tommy's arms to be beside him, and straightened out his legs. Walked to the edge of the table near Tommy's head, he grabbed the lighter. It flicked open, and there was a little flame. But the flame grew, as The Ringleader took control of the fire.
The flame then dance around Tommy's body, he began to sweat, more than a normal person. The amount of water that was now on Tommy's body could have matched what was in any given swimming pool.
The flame focused on the area of the shark bite. It soon closed whatever skin was apart up. It wasn't by magic this was happening, but it was a combination something that had happened to Tommy when the shark bit him, and what The Ring Leader was doing.
Then as if hell had released all its demons, a scream echoed through the room, and was heard above deck. His eyes flicked open, and Tommy groaned in pain. It felt as if he was being burned alive, but no smoke was clogging his lungs, the burns themselves spread over his body. But it was soon muted, and water over took his eyes. He tried to wipe them.
"Stay still!" The Ring Leader ordered. "Unless, you really want to die."
Tommy didn't want to die, but he thought anything would be better than this pain. Anything at all would have been better. Not moving was soon not an option as he found himself writhing on the table. He was shaking; try to get the water, the fire, and the pain in general off of him. But he was doing it on his own accord; the violent shakes that he was making were involuntary. He wailed and cried, as he tried to make it stop.
Then like a storm had just calmed, it all stopped, well, with the occasional groan from Tommy. The Ring Leader soon left, the room, and he was alone. Tommy sat up on the table. His hand ran along his side, he felt the indentions of the bite. How did he survive it? How could he have survived it? He thought people didn't survive shark attacks. He thought this was true even more so because well this shark seemed to take a bite out of him, like one takes a bit out of sandwich.
It hurt. The door opened and Tommy saw for the first time The Ring Leader. He had shoulder length greasy black hair; he was pale, skinny, and tall. Besides that there wasn't anything that special about him. But he had a gleam in his green eyes, one that made Tommy uneasy. It was a gleam that made Tommy think none of this was as good as it seemed.
His mom and dad busted into the room, pushing The Ring Leader aside. "Mom, Dad!" Tommy yelled, and groaned as the sudden movement towards his parents hurt him.
"Tommy, my baby boy." His mom hugged him, and kissed the top of his head. He groaned the squeeze from his mom seemed to press his insides to places where they were not meant to be. Tommy was wondering why his parents were saying nothing about him being out in a horrible storm trying to surf.
"Your thoughts on the deal?" The Ring Leader stated, rolling his sleeves up.
Tommy spoke before his parents could answer, "What deal?"
"Oh, Tommy." His mom said running her hand through his hair. She seemed sorry for something, but Tommy couldn't figure out what.
"The deal, young Thomas," The Ring Leader smirked as Tommy cringed he hated his real name, his parents tried to change it legally to Tommy, but they always stopped feeling as though Tommy needed a formal name. "That I save your life, and you will come work with me. If you don't you will die, it is inevitable."
Tommy's eyes bulged out of his head, working for this man, he didn't trust this man. He didn't even know this man. He would rather die than work for him, if dieing would make the pain go away then that is what he wanted.
"Tommy, we couldn't bare having you die." His father said, putting a firm hand on Tommy's broad shoulder.
"No, just let me die please." Tommy begged, sliding to the edge of the table, making his leg dangle.
The Ring Leader smirked, "You will be joining my cirque, Thomas. I'm sure you've heard of it."
Of course Tommy had heard of it. It was world renound. It wasn't a normal circus, or cirque. It travelled on a ship, and the acts were amazing, almost super human. They seemed impossible. Tommy didn't want to be part of it, he had heard the rumours. The rumours which stated that when not performing the performers were treated more like slaves, all kept up on the ship, having to do the chores. Sure their were workers on the ship, and the performers could walk about, but that was not what slaves meant. If the performers messed up any time, any day, or something went wrong, Tommy heard, that they were tortured, not just with anything though. The torture they were given was their worst fear.
Tommy didn't realize what his fear was, till he saw the lighter in The Ring Leader's hand. It flicked on, and Tommy gulped, and screamed. Could he really have a fear of fire now? That was impossible, yet their it was, he felt as though he wanted to crawl into the corner farthest away from the flame. The Ring Leader closed the lighter extinguishing the flame, and Tommy breathed again.
"Please, mom, dad," Tommy begged. "Just kill me."
"I can't do that. I couldn't let it happen." His mom said.
"It's better." His dad.
His parents were acting, not like them selves, they would want what was best for Tommy, sure. But this, this they knew was not best for Tommy. Something had happened to them.
"Please!" Tommy gave a final effort.
"Then it's settled." The Ring Leader clapped his hands stepping forward. "Tommy will work for me." His smile was not a smirk, but more genuine.
"Good bye, Tommy." His mom kissed him one last time on the top of the head, and they left. Tommy was shattered. He looked at his feet, he looked down, anything to not watch his parents leave him to a fate worse than death.
The Ring Leader placed a hand on Tommy's back, "The next time you see them, you will be a circus performer, known as The Shark." Tommy looked up at The Ring Leader who was giving him a crooked grin that was more twisted than the devil himself.
A forlorn Tommy was shattered inside. He had nothing to live for now. He was better dead. "Come, come, I have much to tell you."

(haha... i loved Tommy to much. He is probably one of my deepest characters I've ever created, and to think he was only created because you made Lara before I could snag the lion tamer LOL)

Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake) Empty Re: Cirque de Savauges (Re-remake)

Name: Arion (Greek for "Musician") Mains (French for "Hands")

Nickname: Ari, Rion

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Personality: At the age of 10, his drunkard parents sold him to a brothel for two bottles of vodka and he grew as a sexual entertainer under the wing of Madame deCroix, the owner of the brothel, until a customer bought him for three small bags of gold at age 12. By then, he was a great lover and became close to his new owner. Through his owner, the musical world was in his hands. He attended a music school with the help of his sexual persuasion and graduated early.

Sadly, by the age 15, his owner and lover died of a heart attack while they were in a heat of passion and left him with nothing, but a ticket to the Cirque de Savauges. When he heard about the Cirque de Savauges coming to town, he immediately attended and was utterly amazed with the performance, but believed the music needed some tuning. So, after the show, he confronted the Ringleader and offered his assistance. Within the next day, he joined the circus.

Because of his experiences, he is unsure of who he truly is. He finds comfort with both sexes and often flirts with everyone possible. Often considered the "prostitute of Cirque", he often upholds to that name. Arion doesn't enjoy sex, but finds it to be a way to feel loved. It is his only way to temporarily fill the empty gap he created when his parents and Madame deCroix sold him.

Arion is very outgoing with people and easy to get along with, but he doesn't take betrayal easily. He is numb when it comes to love and affection even though he claims he uses sex for his love gap. He is also very loyal to the RingLeader.

Act: The Musician: Through his brief classes at his school, he realized that his unnatural ability was inhumane. One day after school, while waiting for his owner to pick him up, he practiced the violin and heard something break. At first he thought it was an accident, but as he continued to play, he found that he could cut things up using the sound waves from whatever instrument he chose.

He later began to experiment on other instruments, but only found comfort with his violin enough to control his slices. Then he realized he could manipulate people with his flute or his voice, depending on its tune.

His powers can be controlled through his mind and choice of words-literally.

Other: He has two older sisters who were well-endowed which led him to be poor and desolate most of his life with his parents. Sadly, they don't know of his existence.

Looks:

Eye Color
: He has gossamer blue eyes.

Hair: He has soft wavy black hair with a slight tail at the back that is often braided and tied with his lover's old sapphire ring.

Appearance: He has pale ivory skin and stands at 6'2". He is broad and muscular, but with a feminine touch. He has an old scar on his lower back from his days in the brothel and a piercing on his left ear lobe. He often wears formal pants and any top, but at performances, he prefers to wear his best alongside the White Bengal Tiger he found after one of their trips.

Other: He enjoys messing with the RingLeader and Tommy. Plus, the Ringleader isn't entirely happy about him owning a White Bengal Tiger and is trying to have it perform in the show instead.
